Topic: Introduction to Computer	Time: 45 minutes
Sub-topic: History of Computer (Electro-Mechanical  and Electronic Era)

Specific Objectives:

At the end of this topic the students will be able to:

a)  Know different electro-mechanical computers.

b)  Know about different electronic computers.

Teaching Materials:

Whiteboard, Marker, Book, Notes, Projector and Computer.

Teaching Learning Activities:

a)  At first, I will revise the topic which was taught last day within five minutes.

b)   Then I will start to explain different electro-mechanical devices like:

(i)            Mark I / ASCC

(ii)          ABC (Atanasoff Berry Computer)

c)   Later, I will also explain about some electronic devices like:

(i)            ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Calculator)

(ii)          EDSAC (Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Computer)

(iii)        EDVAC (Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer)

(iv)        UNIVAC (Universal Automatic Computer)

d)   I will also clear the doubt of the students if any.

Evaluation:

a)  Who developed ABC and when?

b)  Which is the first general purpose electronic computer?
