Time: 50 minutes                                                                                            Period: 2nd

Unit: 2(Critical Thinking, Creativity and Innovation)                                      Class: 3rd Semester

Teaching Item: Deductive arguments vs non-deductive arguments

1.   Specific Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students will be able:

·      To classify the types of argument,

·      To interpret the concept of Deductive arguments and non-deductive Argument,

2.   Instructional materials: Besides the daily use materials;

     PowerPoint presentation slides

3.   Teaching Learning Activities:

  •     Begin the session with discussion of previous lesson topic.
  •     Describe the types of Deductive arguments and non-deductive Argument in detail with the help of PowerPoint slides.
  •     After that, discuss different kind of real life deductive argument  and non deductive augments.
  •    Then, Address the confusion questions raised by students with the help of Q/A method.
  •     Summarize key points covered in the lesson.

4.    Evaluation: I will ask some question randomly in the classroom;

  •      Tell the different types of argument.
  •      What is deductive argument?
  •      What is non deductive argument?
  •      What is the role of premises and conclusion in argument?

5.    Homework:

Q.1 Define deductive argument and non deductive argument with clear example.
