Class: 11 Period: 3rd
Topic: Information Security and Cyber Law Time: 45 minutes
Sub-topic: Digital Signature, Cyber Law and its areas

Specific Objectives:

At the end of this topic the students will be able to:

a)  Understand and define about Digital Signature.

b)  Understand about Cyber Law and its areas.

Teaching Materials:

Whiteboard, Marker, Book, Notes, Projector and Computer.

Teaching Learning Activities:

a)  At first, I will revise the topic which was taught last day within five minutes.

b)  Then I will start to teach about Digital Signature and also define in the following way:

“A digital code that can be attached to an electronically transmitted message that uniquely identifies the sender. Digital signature is based on two main keys: Public Key and Private Key.”

c)   Likewise, I will also explain and define about Cyber Law.

“Cyber law is the part of the overall legal system that deals with the Internet, cyberspace, and their respective legal issues. Nepal has formulated some cyber law to support and legalize the online trading activities, government activities, tax payment and electronic payment using some electronic card. The Cyber Law of Nepal was first introduced in 30th Bhadra, 2061 BS.”

d)  I will also mention the areas of cyber law:

(i)            Electronic and Digital Signature

(ii)          Intellectual Property Right

(iii)        Computer related crime

(iv)        Privacy Protection

(v)          Cyber Crime

(vi)        Data Protection and Online Privacy

(vii)       IT Crimes

(viii)     Regulations of ICT

e)   I will also clear the doubt of the students if any.

Evaluation:

a)   Define cyber law.

b)   When was cyber law introduced in Nepal?
