Sub-topic: Introduction to MS-Windows and its components

Specific Objectives:

At the end of this topic the students will be able to:

a)  Know the meaning and definition of MS-Windows OS & its features.

b)  Understand some terms like Desktop, Icon, Control Panel, File Explorer, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.

Teaching Materials:

Whiteboard, Marker, Book, Notes and Computer.

Teaching Learning Activities:

a)  At first, I will revise the topic which was taught last day within five minutes.

b)  Then I will tell about MS-Windows with its definition which is mentioned below:

“MS-Windows is one of the most popular GUI based operating system software which allows user to interact with the computer using pointing devices, menus, icons, etc.”

c)   Later I will also tell some features of MS-Windows.

d)  Then I will give basic concept of MS-Windows components like Desktop, Icon, Control Panel, File Explorer, Windows Defender, and Windows Firewall.

e)   I will also clear the doubt of the students if any.

Evaluation:

a)   Name any one default icon of the desktop?

b) What is the use of windows firewall in the computer?
