Definition and Types of Computer Software (15 minutes):

    • Define computer software as a set of instructions that tell the computer how to perform specific tasks.
    • Emphasize that software is a crucial part of the computer that enables it to function.
  2. Types of Software (10 minutes):
    • Briefly explain the two main types of software: System Software and Application Software.
    • System Software:
      • Discuss the role of system software in managing the computer's hardware and providing a platform for other software.
      • Mention examples like operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
    • Application Software:
      • Explain how application software is designed for specific tasks or purposes.
      • Provide examples such as word processors, web browsers, games, and multimedia players.

Discussion and Examples (10 minutes):

  • Engage the students in a discussion about various types of application software they use in their daily lives.
  • Show examples of popular application software on the projector and briefly discuss their functions.
