Subject: Computer Graphics
Period: Fourth
Topic: Three Dimensional Graphics
Teaching Item: RGB, HSV and CMYK Color models
Class: BICTE 6th Semester
Unit: Five
Time: 50min
No. of Students: 21
Specific Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- learn about the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color models, their characteristics, and their applications in digital imaging and design.

Instruction Materials:
Daily usages materials.
Multimedia Projector
Image showing difference of RGB and CMYK Color Model
Laptop
Teaching Learning Activities
I will start the lesson by asking students what they know about color models. Encourage them to share their thoughts and experiences.
I will begin by discussing the importance of color representation in digital imaging, design, and printing.
Explain that different color models are used to represent and manipulate colors in various contexts.
I will introduce the RGB color model as an additive color model where colors are created by combining red, green, and blue light in different intensities.
Discuss the concept of additive color mixing and how it applies to the RGB model.
Use examples to illustrate how RGB colors are represented and combined.
Explain the range of colors that can be represented in the RGB color space.
I will introduce the CMYK color model as a subtractive color model used in color printing.
Explain that CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, which are the primary colors used in printing.
Discuss the concept of subtractive color mixing and how it applies to the CMYK model.
Explain the role of the black (K) component in improving color accuracy and depth in printing.
Use examples to illustrate how colors are represented and combined in the CMYK color model.
I will ask students if they have any confusion related to today topic and at last i will summarize the lesson in brief.
Assessment
- How does the RGB color model differ from the CMYK color model in terms of their primary color components and their applications?
- Describe the additive color mixing principle in the RGB color model and provide an example of how it works.
- Explain the subtractive color mixing principle in the CMYK color model and its significance in color printing.
Evaluation
- Discuss the advantages and limitations of using the RGB color model in digital imaging and display technologies.
