1.    Specific Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students will be able:

•      To define Data Accession List (DAL) and Data Criteria List (DCL).
•      To create a simple DAL and DCL for a given dataset.

•      PowerPoint presentation slides

3.    Teaching Learning Activities:

•      Begin with a brief overview of the importance of data management in field of system development.
•      Introduce the concept of DAL and its role in organizing and accessing data.
•      Discuss the significance of DCL in establishing criteria for data selection and retrieval.
•      Illustrate the concept of DAL and DCL for student information system.
•      Ask students to create a simple DAL and DCL for product manufacturing company.
•      Discuss their answers in the class.
•      Summarize key points.

•      What are the differences between DAL and DCL?
•      What are the similarities between DAL and DCL?

5.    Evaluation:

Create DAL and DCL. The dataset includes columns for Student ID, Name, Age, GPA and Major.
