Topic: Reflection on Unit 5                

1.    Specific Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students will be able:

  •      To reflect on the key concepts covered in Unit 5, User-Centered System Design and related topics.
  •      To review understanding of UCSD, Human Factors (HF), Ergonomics, Situational Assessment, and Complex System Development.
  •      To discuss the actions and integration of Safety Engineering (SE), HF, and Ergonomics in system design.

2.    Instructional materials:

  •      Daily uses materials

3.    Teaching Learning Activities:

  •     Welcome the students and introduce the purpose of the lesson: to reflect on the key concepts covered in Unit 5 of the course.
  •      Review the importance of User-Centered System Design (UCSD) in creating systems that meet user needs and preferences.
  •      Recap the concepts of Human Factors (HF) and Ergonomics and their significance in system design and usability.
  •      Encourage students to reflect on the implications of these topics in real-world scenarios or projects they have encountered.
  •      Explore examples of how SE, HF, and Ergonomics considerations are integrated in system design and development processes.
  •      Facilitate a discussion where students can reflect on their learning from Unit 5 and share any questions, insights, or challenges they encountered.
  •      Address any remaining questions or concerns.

4.    Assessment:

  •      Define User-Centered System Design (UCSD) and explain its significance in system development.
  •      Discuss the challenges associated with developing complex systems, and propose strategies for addressing them.

5.    Evaluation:

Propose a plan for conducting a situational assessment for a hypothetical system development project, outlining the steps to be taken and potential challenges to be addressed.
