Topic: Introduction to Operating System               

1.    Specific Objective:

At the end of this lesson, students will be able:

·       To define Operating System

·       To list out functions of operating system

·       To classify major types of operating system

2.    Instructional materials:

·       Daily uses materials

·       PowerPoint Presentation Slides

3.    Teaching Learning Activities:

·       Tell the students about today's topic and objectives.

·       Distribute the paper token to all the students and use it throughout the lesson according to number and color coordinated, that is to evaluate the lesson

·       Ask students having token color pink and blue or mixed.

·       Ask students about computer according to token number.

·       Discuss basic architecture of computer to demonstrate where the operating system resides.

·       Question students to define operating system and lately explain it with real life examples of system showing slides.

·       Query students to guess functions of operating system and try to list out some with their help.

·       List out main functions of operating system in slide.

·       Functions of OS will be concluded by describing after listening students' idea to each one of them, simultaneously.

·       Before hearing the assumptions to different types of OS, set forth in slide and clarify them with examples.

·       Let students to ask questions about this lesson and response them.

·       End the session with very short summary of today's discussion.

·       List down the functions of operating system.

·       Define different operating system.

5.    Evaluation:

Explain all the types of operating system.
