Introduction :
- Begin with a brief review of the importance of computer hardware.
- Introduce the main objective: to understand processing hardware and output devices.
- Discuss why processing is a crucial function in a computer system.
Processing Hardware :
Arithmetic Logical Unit (ALU):
- Explain the role of the ALU and it is used to perform mathematical and logical operations.
- Discuss the importance of ALU.
Control Unit (CU):
- Define CU as the component that manages and coordinates the execution of instructions.
Memory Unit (MU)
- Define MU as the part of the CPU that stores data and instructions that are actively being used.
- Emphasize that the MU acts as the "working memory" of the computer, providing fast access to data and instructions needed for processing.
Output Devices :
- Monitors/Displays:
- Discuss the different types of monitors (LCD, LED, OLED) and their characteristics.
- Explain resolution, refresh rate, and color depth.
- Printers:
- Introduce various types of printers (inkjet, laser, dot matrix).
- Discuss their functions, advantages, and disadvantages.
- Speakers and Audio Output:
- Explain how speakers or headphones serve as output devices for audio.
- Discuss the importance of sound cards in processing audio signals.
Interactive Activity :
