Objective:
- Students will learn the main types of Microsoft Office Suites(Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the shortcut for basic editing functions.
Materials:
- Computers with Microsoft Office installed
- Projector or smartboard

- 2 class periods (45 minutes each)
Lesson Outline:
Day 1: Introduction to Microsoft Office Suite
Introduction (10 minutes):
- Begin with a brief discussion on the importance of computer skills and the relevance of Microsoft Office in daily life and education.
Overview of Microsoft Office Suite (15 minutes):
- Use the projector to showcase the Microsoft Office Suite interface.
- Introduce Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as the main applications for word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation respectively.
Microsoft Word Basics (20 minutes):
- Demonstrate how to open Microsoft Word and provide an overview of the main interface.
- Cover basic formatting options, such as font, size, bold, italics, and underline.
- Guide students through creating a simple document (e.g., a short paragraph about themselves).
Hands-On Practice (30 minutes):
- Allow students to practice creating their own Word document.
- Circulate the classroom to provide individual assistance and address any questions.
Day 2: Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Basics
Recap (10 minutes):
- Briefly review the previous day's lesson on Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Excel Basics (20 minutes):
- Demonstrate how to open Microsoft Excel and provide an overview of the main interface.
- Cover basic spreadsheet concepts, such as cells, rows, columns, and data entry.
- Guide students through creating a simple budget spreadsheet.
Hands-On Practice (30 minutes):
- Allow students to practice creating their own Excel spreadsheet.
- Circulate the classroom to provide individual assistance and address any questions.
Microsoft PowerPoint Basics (20 minutes):
- Demonstrate how to open Microsoft PowerPoint and provide an overview of the main interface.
- Cover basic slide creation, text entry, and slide transitions.

- Assign a homework task, (i.e typing one-page essay) and saving the document as per the shortcut keys.
- Use and Understand shortcut keys in MS Office Suites to save time.

- Assess students based on their participation, completion of hands-on exercises, and the quality of their Word document, Excel spreadsheet, and PowerPoint presentation.
