Subject: Computer Graphics

Period: Fourth

Topic: 2D and 3D Transformation

Teaching Item: 2D and 3D Transformations: Translation, Rotation, Scaling, Reflection and Shear

Class: BICTE 6th Semester

Unit: Three

Time: 50min

No. of Students: 15

Specific Objectives:[edit | edit source]

At the end of this lesson, students will be able to

  • Understand the concept of each transformation.
  • Apply translation, rotation, scaling, reflection, and shear transformations to 2D and 3D objects.

Instruction Materials:[edit | edit source]

Daily usages materials.

PowerPoint slide.

Multimedia Projector

Laptop

Teaching Learning Activities[edit | edit source]

I will start the lesson by asking students what they know about transformation. Encourage them to share their thoughts and experiences.

I will ask them to perform transformations (translation, rotation, scaling, reflection, shear) on physical objects which help them to get basic knowledge about transformation.

I will present the slide while explainig them about various type of transformation and explaining its mathematical foundation and implementation

I will prepare example problems for students to solve, demonstrating how to perform each transformation step by step.

I will ask students if they have any confusion related to today topic and at last i will summarize the lesson in brief.

Assessment[edit | edit source]

I will ask questions like:

Tell me about transformation?

Why it is important in Computer Graphics?

Evaluation[edit | edit source]

Explain how rotation about an arbitrary point differs from rotation about the origin.

Discuss the effects of translation and rotation transformations on the position and orientation of objects.
