Specific Objective:

At the end of this session Students will be able,

  • To understand the key elements of a well-designed webpage.

  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Projector or screen for a brief presentation
  • Examples of well-designed and poorly designed websites

Introduction (2 minutes):

  1. Start with a simple question: "What makes a website appealing and easy to use?"
  2. Briefly explain that web design is the process of creating websites, and it involves both the aesthetic and functional aspects.

Key Elements of Web Design (5 minutes):

  1. Discuss the basic elements of web design:
    • Layout: How content is arranged on the page.
    • Color: The color scheme used throughout the website.
    • Typography: Font styles and sizes for text.
    • Images and Graphics: Visual elements used to enhance the design.
    • Navigation: How users move around the website.
  2. Show examples of well-designed websites, highlighting how they use these elements effectively.
  3. Contrast with examples of poorly designed websites, pointing out where they fall short.

Interactive Activity (2 minutes):

  1. Divide the students into small groups.
  2. Provide each group with a printout of a simple webpage layout.
