Specific Objective:

At the end of this session student will be able to,

  • Understand the concept of application software,
  • Explore various types of application software, and identify their uses in real-world scenarios.

  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Handouts with a list of common application software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.)

Introduction (10 minutes):

1.Engage:

  • Begin with a brief discussion on the types of software students are familiar with.
  • Introduce the term "application software" and ask students if they have heard about it before.
  • Discuss why application software is essential in our daily lives.

2.Define:

  • Provide a clear definition of application software: programs designed to perform specific tasks for users.
  • Explain that application software is distinct from system software, which manages computer hardware and provides a platform for running application software.

Main Activity (15 minutes):
