Specific Objectives:

At the end of this topic the students will be able to:

a) Know different mechanical computers.

b) Know about Charles Babbage and Lady Augusta.

Teaching Materials:

Whiteboard, Marker, Book, Notes, Projector and Computer.

a) At first, I will revise the topic which was taught last day within five minutes.

b) Then I will start to explain different mechanical devices like:

(i) Abacus (v) Stepped Reckoner

(ii) Napier’s Bone (vi) Difference Engine

(iii) Slide Rule (vii) Analytical Engine

(iv) Pascaline (viii) Tabulating Machine

c) Later, I will also tell about Charles Babbage (The father of computer science) and Lady Augusta Ada Lovelace (The first computer programmer).

d) I will also clear the doubt of the students if any.
