Topic: Information Security and Cyber Law Time: 45 minutes
Sub-topic: Malicious Software / Malware

Specific Objectives:

At the end of this topic the students will be able to:

a)  Define malicious software/Malware.

b)  Say some malware.

Teaching Materials:

Whiteboard, Marker, Book, Notes, Projector and Computer.

Teaching Learning Activities:

a)  At first, I will revise the topic which was taught last day within five minutes.

b)  Then I will start to say about malicious software or malware.

c)   I will define the term ‘malicious software/malware’ as mentioned below:

“Malware is a software developed by cyber attackers with the intention of gaining access or causing damage to a computer or network.”

d)  Likewise, I will also give some examples of malware as mentioned below:

(i)            Virus

(ii)          Worms

(iii)        Trojan Horses

(iv)        Spyware

(v)          Rootkit

e)   I will also clear the doubt of the students if any.

Evaluation:

a)   Define virus and how it affects to computer.
