At the end of this lesson

  • Student will be able to understand the concept of computer software.
  • Student will be able to understand the type of software.

Teaching Materials:

  • Whiteboard, Marker and Duster
  • Computer Science Book

Teaching Learning Activities:

  • Student / Teacher will write today's topic on whiteboards .
  • Student / Teacher will discuss about the computer Software.

What is Software?

  • Student / Teacher will ask questions to the students randomly and if students say this answer then Teacher will thanks to them. If they didn't answer the questions then Teacher will discuss the topic by the help of book.

Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate computers and execute specific tasks.

Types of Software?

  • System Software:
    • System Software is the basic requirement of computer system.
    • There are two types of System Software : Operating System ,Language Translator
  • Application Software :
    • Application Software is a set of one or more programs, designed to set a specific problem, or to do a specific task.
    • There are two type of Application Software : Packaged Software, Tailored Software
  • Utility Software:
    • Utility software is a program designed to perform maintenance work or to provide services to the computer o users.
