Specific Objective:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to create a simple PowerPoint presentation using text, images, transitions and animations.
Teaching Materials:
- Computers with MS PowerPoint installed, projector, speakers, internet access, worksheets, rubrics.
Procedure:
- Introduction: Explain the purpose and benefits of using PowerPoint presentations for various purposes, such as education, business, entertainment, etc. Show some examples of good and bad presentations and ask students to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each one. Review the basic features and functions of MS PowerPoint, such as slides, layouts, themes, insert, design, transitions, animations, etc.
- Activity 1: Divide the students into pairs and assign them a topic related to their curriculum, such as science, history, geography, etc. Ask them to research the topic online and create a PowerPoint presentation with at least 5 slides, using text, images, transitions and animations. Provide them with a worksheet and a rubric to guide them through the process and evaluate their work. Monitor and assist the students as they work on their presentations.
