  • Presentation slide
  • Projector
  • Daily usage materials

Teaching Learning Activities

  1. Start the lesson by asking student what they know about CRT monitor, LED TV and LCD TV.
  2. Discuss the evolution of display technologies from CRT to modern LED, LCD, and Plasma displays.
  3. Explain the working principles and components of CRT (monochrome and color) displays.
  4. Demonstrate how LED, LCD, and Plasma displays produce images differently.
  5. Show examples of devices that use each type of display technology.
  6. Discuss on the characteristics such as resolution, refresh rate, contrast ratio, etc., for each type of display device.
  7. Engage students in a group activity to compare and contrast the features of CRT, LED, LCD, and Plasma displays.

Assessment

1. What are the main differences between a CRT monitor and an LED monitor in terms of technology and image quality?

2. Describe a scenario where a Plasma display would be more suitable than an LCD display.
